The magical square of Piazza delle Erba, not far from the historical medieval palace of Juliet's House, is the oldest one in Verona, and is located above the area of the Roman Forum, the center of political and economic life.
The north side is occupied by the ancient city hall, the Lamberti Tower, the House of Judges and from the houses of Mazzanti. On the west side, the smaller one, stands the baroque Palazzo Maffei, adorned with several statues of Greek gods.
The oldest monument in the square is a fountain topped by a statue called Madonna Verona. On 2012, Piazza delle Erbe was declared "most beloved square in the world" and attracts thousands of tourists from everywhere.
