Declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Amalfi is a beautiful city that gives its name to the whole Coast (the universally-famous Amalfi Coast). It is characterized by enchanting panoramic views, cliffs overlooking the sea and white houses perched on the mountain. Interesting are also the panoramic verandas, where are grown lemon and orange trees, the typical local products famous throughout Italy.
Built along the slope dug in the valley of the Canneto River, among the citrus groves of the Lattari Mountains and surrounded by the Gulf, Amalfi is the pearl of the coast with its twists of picturesque alleys and stairs.
Full of treasures of a great cultural value and surrounded by wild and pure nature, Amalfi seems to be shrouded in a magical atmosphere. The entrance of Amalfi is dominated by the beautiful San Francesco Tower, also called the “Saracen Tower”. Do not miss a visit to the famous hostel set in the old convent, founded by St. Francis himself in 1222, where is preserved a precious Cloister, part of the Church of St. Anthony above the sea.
