Cooking Class

What an amazing day with Antonio. The whole experience is so personal - there are other cooking classes with more gadgetry (and entry price) on offer but we chose this one and thank god we did! You get involved in the whole experience from seeing the local produce, to being taught by a chef who who's so passionate about even, what I'm sure to him, is the simplest food. (Although I would hardly call the chicken liver pate simple!), and then to the wine and eating what you had all cooked together was the chocolate sprinkles on the Tiramisu! Don't think about it - just book yourself on and experience tips and tricks from a fantastic teacher! Thank you Antonio for an amazing experience we will not forget and we will use in our kitchen from now on!

Fun cooking and eating in Florence

We really enjoyed this cooking class with Antonio - he's very talented. Going to the markets to get the ingredients was a real highlight, and so were the truffle and aged balsamic vinegar tastings. I learned some really useful cooking techniques and tips. Loved that we sat down to enjoy the dishes with a glass of wine too! My husband isn't as much of a cooking fan as me but he really renjoyed his day.

Cooking Class in Florence

This was a real highlight of my week in Florence. Antonio Gelli, the Cordon Bleu trained chef, (altho he explained he learned a lot from his mother and grandmother before he did formal training) was excellent and made sure everyone in our group was included and had a go at each stage of the lunch preparation. We had 8 in our class, which was great, but the max is 10-12 so never over-crowded. We started with a tour of the main food market and had a truffle tasting and then one of aged balsamic vinegars while Antonio bought the ingredients for our cooking session and showed us the different types of meat and bread, best vegetables etc Back to the cooking school, with Antonio pointing out points of interest, including where to buy the best Florentine street food. The class was conducted in an old Palazzo with wonderful views and we were given all sorts of special professional tips to make our Italian cooking special.... (the 4 course menu is described on the website) The wines Antonio had chosen to complement our lunch were excellent, and somehow we had helped him make the best pasta sauce I had ever tasted-the whole meal was delicioso! I highly recommend this class for anyone considering an Italian cooking lesson- the price was so reasonable and Antonio managed to cram a huge amount into the few hours available, altho we never felt rushed!

Cooking lesson from market to the table with Chef Antonio

The other day we were treated to an amazing Florence experience. We had the opportunity to spend over 4+hours with Chef Antonio. He was trained at Cordon Bleu in Florence and has had many years of cooking experience. We started at the food market in Florence, a place no one should miss while visiting the city. Had some education and tasting of truffles and aged balsamic vinegars. While we were there, we watched Antonio buy the food for our feast. Walked to an wonderful kitchen where there was sufficient room for the group to assist in the cooking. Final product was bruscetta, chicken liver pate, fresh pasta with meat sauce and the most amazon tiramisu we have ever had. We had red wine with late lunch and dessert wine also. This class was far more that we ever expected and Antonio was wonderful. Highly recommend.
