You will begin our 4-hour tour with a walking tour in Stresa. From this city, you will be viewing many historical and architectural interests. The Grand Hotel of Stresa is where famous American author and journalist, Ernest Hemingway wrote a part of his 1929 novel. This city has been playing host to a few notable political conferences. From Stresa, you will head towards the promenade to catch a glimpse of the captivating shorelines of the Borromean Gulf. You will gaze at the delightful landscape from the height of the promenade, giving you the best view of the villas. Here, art and nature are mixed together with huge parks surrounding the villas dotting the shore. Such are the sightings of the Villa Paravicini, the neo-classical styled 18th century Villa Ducale and the imposing art nouveau style Les Iles Borromées as well as the Regina Palace Hotel.
Soon after, you will be transferred to a guided visit on the island of Isola Bella by a taxi boat across Lake Maggiore. Here we will see the 16th-century Palace built by Charles Borromeo III for his wife, Isabella D’Adda. The island is named in honor of Isabella hence the island is called Isola Bella. Also, the Palace features wonderful baroque-styled ten-terraced gardens that are enriched with basins and beautifully carved fountains along with some statues.
